Q & A for the Swimming Spectacles
- What is the absolute flat lens swimming spectacles ? How to test and exam my swimming goggles is absolute flat lens ?
The absolute flat lens is the lens surface of swimming goggles without any curvature, and presents absolute flat condition, it can remain the vision unchanged both above and under water. Consumers can judge their swimming goggles by two ways: 1. Use a name card to contact vertically on the lens to see if it's completely match, if there is some space and can not match very closely, it's not absolute flat lens. 2. To see the lens surface under the light of daylight lamp, if it's like a mirror can reflect the image of daylight lamp without any distortion, it's a absolute flat lens..
- What is spherical and aspherical design ? What are the advantages ?
Spherical lenses have been used in most swimming goggles. The higher the diopter, the heavier the lens, and the narrower the visual field become. All this is a great burden to swimmers. SABLE is the first company in the world to adopt aspherical lens, making thinner and lighter lenses as well as offering the best visual quality by rectifying the optical aberration at the edges.
- Can I have a good swimming spectacles for astigmatism ?
Astigmatism has the problem on angles, it's difficult to make the astigmatism swimming goggles according to different individual's visual angles. There is a comment for reference and can let the astigmatism to get better vision: it's half the strength for astigmatism and plus the myopia. For example, myopia of -2.00 and astigmatism of +1.00, the strength for underwater lens should be -2.00 + (C-1.00/2) = -2.50 That mean you can choose myopia -2.50 swimming goggles. But due to the differences of angles, maybe it¡¯s not suit for somebody.
- Does it necessary reduce the diopters when choosing myopia swimming goggles?
It's not necessary. Some suppliers commonly held as true that the strength of the lens for swimming goggles should be reduced -0.50 or -1.00 which is incorrect. Because the vision changes constantly both above and under water. Only choose the absolute flat lens, no matter what is above or under water, vision can remain unchanged, so no need to reduce any diopters.
- What's the influence if the PD value (myopia populations' two pupils distance) is incorrect ?
It's uncomfortable wearing and can effect the vision as wearing an optical glasses with improper PD value, there may be so-called prism effect causing when you see the floor is not flat and lose your balance.
- Can I wear the contact lens for swimming ?
No, because contact lens is on the crystal-lens of eye, no one can assure there is no leakage and water won't contacts with eyes, furthermore, due to the swimming pools may have infection of bacteria, oil dirt and chemical agents, once the water contacts with eyes, it easily attaches on the contact lens and difficult to get rid of, our eyes are easily infected, and it will also damage the contact lens.
- How long will it be better wearing the swimming goggles when swimming?
When we are swimming, our eyes also need a plenty of oxygen. Actually, wearing a swimming goggles with a bigger room lens, it's not over than 30 minutes, otherwise, it's 15 ¨C 20 minutes for the small room lens, and we should take off the swimming goggles for the fresh air.
- Can I choose the available diopters for myopia or presbyopia swimming goggles ?
SABLE swimming spectacles launched myopia -1.50 ~ -10.00 and presbyopia (astigmatism) +1.50 ~ +4.00 for consumers' choice.
- I dislike my swimming goggles often to be scratched.
SABLE swimming spectacles has the special hard-coating treatment on the lens surface, offering much scratch resistance for the lenses
- Is it possible for a heavy myopia people to find the available swimming goggles ?
Yes, SABLE have the lens for myopia -10.00
CARE AND MAINTANCE FOR THE SWIMMING SPECTACLES
- Anti-fog is with hydrophilic nature, rinse the goggles in the water to activate hydrophilic anti-fog preparation thoroughly and throw the water off before wearing for the perfect anti-fog effect.
- Please do not touch the inner side of the lenses with nails, fingers or other acute object to prevent scratching on the surface or damaging the anti-fog film.
- Rinse the goggles with clean and cool water after swimming and dry them in cool shaded area. Do not wash your goggles with alcohol, thinner or other organic solution so as not to cause distortion or fading of anti-fog. Oil dirt attached in the surface of the lens causes reduction in anti-fog effect. Please wash the lens gently with neutral detergent and dry them in cool shaded area.
- Keep the goggles away from sun exposure, heaters, or the sundry box under instrument platform of the cars, sauna house, spas, etc. for fear of damage on anti-fog system and aging of gasket, head-strap and other fittings caused by high temperature and strong UV.
- Please do not pull and disassemble the gaskets unnecessarily.
